Team Trials Criteria
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION OF 2012 STATE TEAMS
1. Trials will be held as follows:
First trial will be a full round robin, a final 16 players will be chosen from these results..
The Dates will be:
17 & 18 March, 2012
&
28 & 29 April, 2012
2. Trials will be run by the State team captains. The State Director shall oversee all areas of the trials and has the right to change and or adjust areas of the trial format. All selection shall be made by the State Director as chairperson of Selectors, in conjunction with the State Team Captains and the State Coaching Director.
3. Players must be currently playing in an affiliated competition, must be a full member of Darts NSW and must have played 2 days in any of the 3 State events weekends and 2 Darts Australia tournaments in the preceding year (the previous Australian Championships will be considered and acceptable tournament)
4. The first weekend will be a full round robin, 501 best of 3 legs, to ascertain the final 16 ladies and 16 men (based on selection) who will proceed to the second trial (depending on numbers). Cost $25.00 per person per weekend.
5. Once in the final 16 you must continue until the team is announced. Failure to do so will result in a 12 month suspension from State Team Trials.
6. On the second weekend there will be both singles and team's events (dependent on the requirements indicated by the selection panel) to assist in the selection of the final 7 positions in the team. The 8th spot will be for the selection of a junior (if applicable) and who is considered to be of an equivalent standard to the 8th player providing that Junior has registered to participate in the trials and meets all other criteria.
7. The cost after you are selected in the team will be $600.00 and this money must be paid by 31st May. A deposit of $300.00 per person is required to be paid on the day of selection.
8. If partners are going to be traveling as well you need to notify us at time of selection and an additional deposit of $100.00 is required to be paid for partners as well.
9. All sixteen players will be required to attend all practice matches as organised by the Director of State Teams. The practice matches are compulsory.
10. Bad behavior of any kind will not be tolerated during these trials. This includes any behavior that places the team, its members, administration or reputation at risk. Failing to adhere to this rule will result in the person concerned being asked to leave the dart area and may be removed from both the team or the trials under the instruction of the State Teams Director ( in consultation with Darts NSW Executive.)
11. A breakdown of all final costs due will be given out at the second trial.
12. Inability to be able to meet the conditions of this criteria should be considered prior to trialing for the NSW Representative Team. Players must adhere to the conditions of being a member of this team.
